Job Description

Job Title: Dental Hygienist

Secondary Locations:
• Pine Point Satellite Clinic – 47520 282nd St, Ponsford, MN 56575
• Naytahwaush Satellite Clinic – 2471 310th Ave, Mahnomen, MN 56557
 
Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of 4 additional.
 
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
 
How Many Shifts Needed per Month: Approximately 20–22 shifts per month
 
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6–8 weeks
 
License: Active Dental Hygienist license from any U.S. state
 
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
 
Experience Needed: Minimum 1–2 years of Dental Hygienist experience preferred
 
Special Skills Needed:
• Preventive oral care and periodontal treatment
• Patient education and oral health programs
• Experience with Dentrix / Electronic Health Records
• Ability to treat patients of all age groups
 
Responsibilities:
• Provide dental hygiene services including cleaning, scaling, and root planing
• Record medical and dental histories and evaluate oral health conditions
• Apply sealants, fluoride treatments, and caries prevention agents
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, and home care practices
• Take dental impressions and assist in treatment planning
• Work under supervision of licensed dentists in IHS dental clinics
• Treat 8–10 patients per day across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
