School-Based Registered Nurse (RN)


Location: Federal Way, WA 98003
Duration: 36 Weeks 
Shift: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM 
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 hours weekly
Weekly Compensation: $1,350–$1,500; (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a school-based health team in Federal Way, WA. This position supports the health and well-being of students through direct care, health education, and collaboration with school staff and families.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes), and medication administration
  • Perform health assessments, screenings, and immunization reviews
  • Develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPs) for students with special medical needs
  • Respond to health emergencies and coordinate appropriate care
  • Monitor and manage communicable diseases within the school population
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, counselors, and healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
  • Educate students and staff on health topics and disease prevention
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in Washington State (required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) (required).
  • CPR/BLS Certification (required).
  • Pediatric, community health, or school nursing experience (required).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
